Sound test with the two 18" Yorkville Elite professional subwoofers I bought. This is the first part of my new DJ/house party system. Subs are powered by a QSC Model 1400 amplifier connected to the subwoofer pre-out on my Sony STR-DE597 home audio receiver. I have my iPod connected to the Realistic stereo mixing console which is connected to the Sony audio receiver. There are two Sony bookshelf speakers on top of the subs. The next part of my system will consist of a proper mixer and amplifier along with two full-range professional speakers (I'm looking into getting a pair of EV Eliminators). Considering the fact that I'm using a cheap mixer and a non-professional home audio receiver for the sound (the QSC amp and subs are the only professional components of this setup) it still pounds really hard.
